Stoffberg is a small agricultural town situated at the intersection of the R33 Provincial Route and R555 Regional Route in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa.
The town is located in Emakhazeni Local Municipality within the Nkangala District Municipality of Mpumalanga Province.
Stoffberg lies approximately 10 km south-west of Laersdrif, 31.5 km south-west of Roossenekal, and 61.7 km north-east of Middelburg along the R555 road. The town is also not so far from Dullstroom, a mere 55.7 km via the R33 road.
This small agricultural town is often one of the first towns encountered for those entering Mpumalanga from Limpopo on the R555 or R33.
While you can easily drive through the town itself without realising it, the huge grain silo in the centre of Stoffberg is a symbol of the town’s agricultural pedigree. As the town is the trading centre for the region for mixed farming, cattle, wheat, maize, groundnuts and vegetables.
While the town has few amenities, the surrounding area provides beautiful scenic views for those simply driving through, or out for a ‘Sunday drive’ and the ‘Blinkwater Perskombers’ just outside Stoffberg is a lovely stopping point for anyone seeking a spot of lunch or an overnight stay.
